As we enter a new era in virtual reality technology, it's getting pretty exciting for fans of VR porn like us at BadoinkVR. The latest buzz comes from Meta's new headset, Project Phoenix, which Meta unveiled at Connect on the 23rd of September 2026 under its official name: Meta VR Glasses.
Project Phoenix: The New Meta VR Glasses
Meta's next-gen mixed reality headset, called Meta VR Glasses, looks far more like a pair of glasses than a VR headset. The sleek and lightweight design promises to bring an even more immersive experience in VR porn! They weigh just 100 grams on your face, because the battery and processor live in a seperate pocket puck of roughly 300 grams, connected by a clable. That's about the weight of a deck of cards, and less than one-fifth the weight of the Meta Quest 3.
Features & UI
The glasses use micro-OLED displays for deep blacks and rich colors, and integrate Meta's new Muse AI directly into the operating system. You control it through voice, eye-tracking, and small hand/finger gestures. You can even turn any flat surface into a virtual keyboard and trackpad. They pack a private cinema, multi-monitor computer setup, and game console into the glasses. What can you use them for (other than VR porn, of course)? They run the entire Quest library (over 75 games work with hand gestures alone, the rest qith Quest Touch Plus controllers), plus XBox Cloud Gaming, Disney+ in 3D, and front-row 180-degree views of over 100 live US sports events a year, UFC included!
Wanna hear something cool? These new glasses have Social Features, including photorealistic hologram calling. Meta demoed a full-body hologram call live on stage at Connect (yes, you finally get legs in VR!).
How Good Will Porn Look In Meta VR Glasses?
This is the question the tech sites won’t answer, so we will.
The picture is the big win. Each eye gets 2,412 x 2,288 pixels at 37 pixels per degree, about 50% sharper than the Quest 3's 25, and the sharpest display Meta has ever made, running at up to 120Hz. Micro-OLED panels also mean true blacks, so dimly lit bedroom scenes will look incredible. Our 8K scenes won't gain extra detail, because they're already about as sharp as a Quest 3 can show, but they will gain those deeper blacks and richer contrast. And as VR porn gets filmed at even higher resolutions, these are the glasses that will show it off.
The trade-off is field of view. The glasses show about 70 degrees across, compared with 110 on the Quest 3. A 180-degree VR porn scene still surrounds you, but you’ll see a smaller slice of it at once and turn your head more to take it all in. Meta sells an optional clip-in light blocker, and we’d call it a must-have for private viewing.
Battery life is up to three hours of video per charge. And because the glasses run the Quest’s own software and app store, the browser and apps you already use to watch VR porn should work from day one.
