Instructions

The Oculus Rift S Start Guide is a virtual reality headset designed from the ground up to provide an immersive experience. That means you'll feel like you're somewhere else when you put it on. It blocks out all light from your surrounding environment and imitates another location so well that you won't be able to tell the difference. The Oculus Rift (S) is a stand-alone virtual reality headset. That means there's no need for wires or additional processing hardware; just put it on, and you'll be in another world.

The Oculus Rift S Start Guide setup is relatively straightforward; however, there are several essential things to note. Firstly, while you can use the Rift with a PC, it's designed to be optimized for use with a gaming console. The second thing to note is that you'll need a particular controller to navigate your games and menus. You'll need either an Xbox One controller (or equivalent) or a PlayStation 4 controller (or equivalent). The next step is to plug in your headset and set up your tracking system. The tracking system measures your movements, so it's essential to set up correctly. Once you have the procedure, you plug a sensor into your computer and another into the wall.

Before diving into a few of the best experiences available for the Rift, it's important to note a few things about how to use the headset. The Oculus Rift is designed to be worn with glasses. If you wear glasses, you shouldn't have any issues. However, you may find the headset too tight if you don't wear glasses. There are two ways to wear the Oculus Rift. Firstly, you can wear it with the straps behind your head. The second method is to wear the headset with the straps in front of your head. Which way you use it is up to you.

1. Setup the Oculus Rift Environment

Make sure your PC is compatible with the Oculus Rift. You can find a list of recommended specs here. Download the install package from oculus.com/setup and go through the installation wizard. The install package will automatically detect and configure all the equipment.

2. Download and install a VR video player compatible with the Oculus system

You can use a VR video player compatible with Oculus of your choice. We recommend the following:

  • 1. DeoVR - is a straight-forward, high performance video player for 2D, 3D, flat, 180°and 360° videos.
  • 2. Skybox VR - Skybox is an ultimate local VR video player which supports video playback from local storage and network shared servers.

3. Download a video to your PC

We try to optimize our videos for every display available, all you have to do is select the right one. Oculus users should select the Vive / Oculus HQ - 60fps.

4. Use the VR video player to play the video

PLEASE NOTE: Please refer to the player's documentation.

5. Enjoy the experience
